I planted my orchard in 1985 in zone 3, Nothern Wisconsin and waited for 5 years for my apple trees to bear only to lose them to the cold northern winters.
I began my nursery in 1992. I apprenticed with Northwind Nursery soon after and presently consider myself to be one of the lucky ones who find the type of living that makes one excited to get up in the morning.
I hope that the research I have done in choosing the appropriate varieties and rootstocks; and providing the information on this site, will result in your success and no lost years of waiting for those first crops.
