Plums
EFN offers two types of plums- the prune -type (P. domestica) and the fresh eating type (Japanese American crosses usually). The prune types are delicious eaten fresh also, just not as juicy.

Plums on P americana rootstock; 3-5 ft- $18 ea
Add 5 dollars per tree if ordering less than 3 trees.
Zone 3 hardy rootstock, adaptable to wide range of soils; v drought tolerant. 8- 12 ft mature tree. Suckers some.


P domestica. These plums probably do not need pollinization from other plums.

2 Todd: Large prune type plum. Z 3


Plums crosses (Jap Amer) These plums need pollinization from other plums or wild American or wild Japanese plums (Prunus americana or Prunus salicina) I recommend a wild American plum as a pollinizer, they can mean the difference between a few fruits per tree or branches laden with fruit.
3 Kahinta: Salicina x americana, Tart skin, flavorful flesh.

2 Superior: Exc.quality, large, juicy, sweet fruit. Bears young. Z 4.           
     
4 Toka: Med-sized fruit has richly flavoured flesh. Bears fruit young. Ripens mid-August. Z 4.
